CHOOSING THE RIGHT BREEDER FOR YOU
With any breed, we recommend researching the breed and the
breeder of your interest.  A breeder is going to want to know
everything about you and your family and the care that you will be
giving to one of their puppies.
DO YOUR HOMEWORK, know the size, personality, energy level,
grooming requirements, care and feeding of the breed you are
considering. You want an
ethical breeder, one that knows and tests
the health of their dogs before breeding them.  You need to have  a
number of questions for the breeders and they will also have some for
you.  Don't be surprised if there are 101 questions to be answered.
Beware of PET STORES, BACK YARD BREEDERS AND
PUPPY
MILLS.  Know what each one is and the signs to identify one. This
website,
www.thewrongpuppy.org, has some informative information
on it.  Although, it is mainly a website regarding the import of bully
breeds, it pertains to all breeds.  Make sure you read about
deposits,
as well as
warranty and guarantees.
Ethical breeders don't take owning or breeding a dog lightly, they
enjoy their chosen breed, and only breed for the betterment of that
breed. They choose the best temperaments and structurally sound
dogs to breed.  They don't mass produce or just sell for the money!
Normally a reputable breeder will keep one or 2 puppies out of a litter
to continue their lineage and if any are left, will place those based on
personality, color, conformation and temperament with the right family.

An ethical breeder will place any and all PET PUPPIES or dogs with a
SPAY/NEUTER contract.  When ever you get a dog, whether it by
someone giving it to you or buying it, a dog is a
LIFETIME
COMMITMENT
, purebred or not.   Follow the breeders advice, they
have many years experience and knowledge in their chosen breed.
Ethical breeders do not like getting any animal back due to ignorance,
abuse or lack of time for it! BUT a reputable breeder will ALWAYS
take their puppy/dog back when circumstances arise that may not
allow you to keep your dog.  SO make sure you
research...research...and research some more before you go out and
get a puppy...because you must remember, all puppies are cute and
they all will one day be a DOG!
