With any breed, we recommend researching the breed and the breeder of your interest. A breeder is going to want to know everything about you and your family and the care of any potential puppies. Watch out for PET STORES, Back Yard Breeders, and PUPPY MILLS. Know what each one is and the signs to identify one. You want an ethical Breeder, OFA testing is normally done on any and all breeding stock. Potential owners need to have questions and same goes for the breeders. Don't be surprise for 101 questions needing to be answered. Do your homework, know the size, personality, recommendation in grooming, care and feeding. When ever you get a dog, whether it by someone giving or buying it, a dog is a lifetime commitment, purebred or not. Ethical Breeders do not like seeing or getting any animal back due to ignorance, abuse or you didn't have the time for it. Follow the breeders advise, they may have many years involving with their breed choice. Ethical Breeders don't take owning a dog likely, they enjoy and breed for the betterment, temperament, conformation, longevity, health of the breed and don't mass produce to sell. Normally the breeder will keep one or two puppies out of a litter to continue the lineage and if any are left will be placed based on personality, color, conformation and temperament. An ethical breeder will place any and all PET puppies or dogs with spay/nueter contracts. For more questions or answers on breeds, please visit www.akc.org
